Homemade Cranberry Sauce (refined sugar free)

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz cranberries
  • 1 orange, juiced and zested
  • 1 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 1/3-1/2 cup maple syrup depending on how sweet you like it, I like mine on the tart side
  • 1 1/2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves

Instructions
 

  • Place all ingredients into a pot and cover with an airtight lid and bring to a boil (you’ll hear the cranberries begin to pop) then remove lid and bring down to a simmer.
  • Stirring occasionally as you go for 20-30 minutes until it cooks down and forms a compote like texture.
  • Remove cinnamon sticks.
  • Allow to cool completely to room temperature then chill in the fridge. 
  • Refrigerate overnight or few a few days prior to serving for best results.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 10 days. Enjoy!
