Cherry Lime Nature’s Gatorade: A Homemade Electrolyte Drink

Cherry Lime Nature’s Gatorade is a refreshing, mineral-rich drink made with coconut water, cherries, and lime.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup dark cherries pitted and halved
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 3 teaspoons maple syrup or raw honey adjust to taste
  • ½ inch piece fresh ginger peeled and grated (use a microplane)
  • 1 small pinch of pink Himalayan salt optional
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • Optional: Lime slice for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a large measuring glass or bowl, combine the cherries, lime juice, and maple syrup.
  • Use a potato masher or back of a spoon to mash the cherries and mix everything together.
  • Grate in the ginger and stir it into the mixture.
  • Add the coconut water and a pinch of Himalayan salt if using. Mix well.
  • Fill a separate glass with crushed ice.
  • Pour the cherry-lime mixture over the ice.
  • Garnish with a lime slice and enjoy immediately.
