This mango sorbet is incredibly easy easy to make and one of my favorite desserts. It’s simple, refreshing and really brings me back to traveling to tropical places. Not only is mango one of my favorite fruits but it truly has phenomenal benefits for your health! They’re packed with essential vitamins and enzymes. Mango’s are a prebiotic food which are truly necessary for good gut health and are incredible for digestion as well as colon health. When you start the day with mango before a workout they can help energize you and when you eat them right before bed they can help you get a better nights sleep!
Since this sorbet is packed with fiber and nutrients, you can have it as a smoothie bowl for breakfast or as a sweet dessert! Pairing this with passionfruit and/or lime makes this is the ultimate tropical sorbet. Passionfruit has an incredibly sweet and slightly sour flavor. If you haven’t tried it, its a must! You can find it whole in a lot of markets and if you can’t find fresh passionfruit, adding in some extra lime is great too!
- 3 cup frozen mango
- ⅓ cup coconut cream (the hard part of a can of full fat coconut milk refrigerated overnight)
- 1 tbs maple syrup
- 1 tbs of lim juice
- 1 passionfruit (remove seeds with a spoon-or sub with another tbs of lime juice)
- 1-2 tbs of water or coconut water (optional: if needed to blend)
- Place all ingredients into a high speed blender or a food processor and blend, either using a tamper or stopping as you go to mix and then blending until smooth.
- Enjoy!
For sweetener in this I like to add a little maple syrup but you can omit that as the fruit is sweet on it’s own or substitute for another liquid sweetener if you like. To thicken the sorbet a little bit, I add in some coconut cream. You can find either a can of coconut cream or get a can of full fat coconut milk (I like the one from Thai Kitchen) and place in the fridge overnight. Then scoop out the hardened cream at the top. I like to use the rest to make some coconut whipped cream or throw into in a curry.
To make the sorbet you can use a high speed blender or a food processor. I use a Vitamix with a tamper to create a thick consistency. You can also add a touch of water to help the blending process or let the frozen fruit thaw a little if you don’t have a high speed blender. I also recommend stopped to mix it up as you go and it will help it come together to get a smooth yet thick consistency.
