Inspired by the viral butter board, comes the hummus board!
Combining different types of hummus or bean dips and paired with Middle Eastern inspired toppings. It’s sort of like a charcuterie board for hummus, making it really fun for get togethers or gatherings as it serves as a fun and festive appetizer.
What you Need for a Hummus Board:
A plain hummus or bean dip
A few other different flavors of hummus
-
I used olive, garlic and Calabrian chili dip
Olive tapenade (or an olive hummus)
Optional Toppings:
-
fresh herbs (I used parsley)
-
za’atar (one of my favorite middle eastern spices that bring SO much flavor)
-
sumac (another commonly used middle eastern spice that has notes of citrus)
-
olives (I like kalamata olives or a blend of your favorite)
-
dried rose petals or edible flowers
-
Extra virgin olive oil to drizzle
-
Tahini to drizzle
-
preserved lemon (minced, about 1-2 teaspoons)
This is my favorite homemade hummus recipe, if you really want to wow your guests! It has my easy steps to make traditional hummus while cutting down on time.
This makes a great base to the hummus board and you can even do just all one type of hummus and have fun with the toppings!
