I grew up on things like frozen yogurt and soft serve ice cream.
There was always something just so addicting and refreshing when it came to Pinkberry frozen yogurt specifically, so I had to make a healthy vegan copycat Pinkberry frozen yogurt!
It’s so easy to make with just 4 ingredients! I can’t believe I didn’t start making this sooner, it’s just so delicious!
Just like Pinkberry, this frozen yogurt has that perfectly tart taste that’s yummy with an array of toppings!
INGREDIENTS FOR THE COPYCAT PINKBERRY FRO-YO
-
plain dairy free yogurt
-
dairy free milk (I used this cashew based one)
-
maple syrup
-
lemon/lime juice
I love this slightly tart flavor of this recipe, but you can always make a variation with vanilla yogurt or any other flavor you want, just skip the lemon/lime juice and follow the recipe!
How to Make Vegan Frozen Yogurt
This healthier copycat Pinkberry frozen yogurt only takes 20 minutes to make and then it’s ready to serve.
The great thing about using yogurt as a base, is it is already thick.
Once you mix all the ingredients together you just need to place it on your ice cream machine for 15 minutes and you have the perfect soft serve consistency.
I use this Cuisinart Gelateria, it has ice cream, gelato and sorbet settings and it’s amazing! I’ve had it for years now and I highly recommend if you’re looking for an ice cream maker that doesn’t take up to much room like some of the other large machines.
I filled with mixture into a piping bag (traditionally used for frosting) to serve the the frozen yogurt into a swirl!
This is a really fun way to serve it but not necessary. If you do, make sure you are pushing down from the top and keeping the top of the piping bag closed with one hand, and gently pushing down with the other so that it comes out easily.
Alternatively to the piping back, you can use a plastic ziplock bag and cut a small hole on one of the edges, making your own piping bag!
FAQs
Can I make this copycat Pinkberry frozen yogurt without an ice cream maker?
Yes! If you don’t have an ice cream machine, don’t worry! You can still make this frozen yogurt and it will still be creamy and delicious. After you mix together the ingredients, fill ice cube trays with the yogurt mixture.
Freeze overnight or for at least several hours.
Then transfer to a blender, the silicon ice cube trays make it easy to pop them out. Blend until smooth, adding a small amount of dairy free milk if needed. If using a high speed blender, use the tamper to push down as blend.
