Hot honey is such a delicious condiment to so many things! I wanted to make a honey free option that still emulated the flavor and texture of honey.
Using only 2 ingredients it’s incredibly easy to make! It’s the perfect combination of the sweet and savory and has the same exact texture in regular honey. You can double or triple the recipe depending on how much you want to make in a batch. This stuff is definitely a crowd pleaser and a favorite addition to my vegan “chicken” and waffle sandwich!
Vegan Hot Honey

Ingredients
- 2½ tbs of maple syrup
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
Instructions
- Add 2 tbs of maple syrup and chili flakes to a sauté pan and bring to a low simmer for about 3-5 minutes, stirring as you go.
- Take it off the heat and add to a small bowl or airtight container, allow it to cool and thicken.
- When ready to eat you can add another ½ tbs of maple syrup if its too thick.
- Enjoy!
