Ranch dressing was always a favorite growing up. I’ve made vegan ranch a few ways before but love this hemp seed one. It’s great for anyone who can’t eat nuts and is also vegan or dairy free!
It is made using simple whole food ingredients. I combine hemp hearts and tahini to make this vegan ranch dressing creamy. As well as some plant milk. If nut free, I recommend oat milk, hemp milk or soy milk. You can also substitute with water and add in a little more hemp seeds.
Make it in minutes
It only takes several minutes to put this together in a personal blender. My go to for all my salad dressings and sauces is the Magic Bullet. I’ve had it for years and it has made cooking so much easier. You don’t need to soak the hemp seeds or anything prior to blending.
Be sure to get shelled hemp hearts, I love these from Manitoba. They are so creamy once blended.
Dairy free alternatives
What I love about these dairy free alternatives is that they are not only delicious and great in emulating the velvety texture found in dairy products. Hemp hearts and tahini, which is made of sesame seeds are two amazing seeds packed with nutrition.
Hemp seeds are one of my favorite foods for skin health, particularly great for healing eczema and psoriasis. They are rich in fatty acids, proving omega-3’s and omega-6’s. A great source of protein, as well as a heart healthy food. Even more reasons to put this vegan ranch dressing on anything and everything!
Tahini is also incredibly versatile and an ingredient I like to utilize a lot in plant based cooking. Tahini is an incredible source of calcium, making it a very fitting choice as a dairy substitute. Like hemp seeds, tahini is also beneficial for skin health. Being that it is rich in vitamin E, which is known to improve the appearance of health skin and nails.
Fresh or dried herbs
The beauty of this recipe, no pun intended, is that you can actually use all ingredients found in your pantry. The fresh dill and parsley can easily be substitute for dried dill and parsley and tastes just as delicious!
This vegan ranch makes a great condiment to many dishes, especially paired with my
You can also use a salad dressing, as a dip or served with your favorite vegan pizza.
