If you told me that gluten free vegan pizza could be this good years ago I wouldn’t believe it!
With a few tips and tricks and using my homemade vegan liquid mozzarella recipe this is truly delicious! Growing up with Italian food I really love and appreciate a simple Margherita pizza. The beauty of Italian food is it can so easily be made vegan.
Making The Perfect Pizza Crust
What I love about this of this gluten free pizza crust (aside from it being delicious) is that it takes minutes to make, no proofing or rising required and uses just a few ingredients!
This dough is inspired by my 3 Ingredient Bagel recipe. The key to making this pizza crust perfectly soft and airy is using a flour sifter to sift the flour first. I recommend this one from Browze. It’s a simple step that truly makes all the difference in this vegan gluten free pizza!
Not only is vegan but also completely gluten and grain free!
The flour used in this recipe is cassava flour. It’s a wonderful gluten free whole food white flour alternative!
However, you can also substitute the cassava flour for gluten free all purpose flour in this recipe if needed.
All you need to make this crust is 4 ingredients:
- Cassava Flour (or sub GF all purpose flour)
- Dairy free plain yogurt
- Baking powder
- Sea salt
Keeping the simplicity of this pizza, I top it with a simple sauce of crushed tomatoes, oregano, crushed garlic and sea salt.
The crushed garlic really adds a delicious element to the pizza. I use this garlic crusher and slicer to get the garlic nice and fine to get that perfect garlic flavor.
Alternatively, you can use your favorite marinara or tomato basil sauce.
The “cheese” used for this margarita pizza is my Vegan Mozzarella recipe.
There are two variations to the base of this mozzarella recipe. To make this vegan pizza as authentic as possible I use the liquid vegan mozzarella variation.
This cooks up beautifully onto the pizza! The taste and texture is personally my favorite vegan cheese I’ve ever had!
You can add any toppings to this pizza you like as well! To keep it a simple margarita pizza I add olive oil before baking and top with fresh basil and chili flakes. This pizza is also delicious with toppings like thinly sliced onion, bell pepper and olives!
I recently got this Wooden Pizza Tray and Pizza Cutter and Server which are not only a convenient way to serve it but very stylish!
I genuinely love all my products from Browze and find when it comes to making pizza, these are a non-negotiable. They are incredibly affordable and you can also use my code justine20 to get 20% off your first order!
