A Better Bagel “Crust”
The bagel crust is made using my 3 ingredient bagel recipe with everything bagel seasoning!
It has a perfect airy bagel texture using Cassava Flour instead of regular flour.
Cassava Flour is a gluten free, grain free flour that tastes very similar to white flour but is much more nutritionally dense. You can all sub with gluten free all purpose flour.
This recipe is inspired by the famous Smoked Salmon Pizza that Wolfgang Puck made and served at Spago restaurant in Beverly Hills.
This creation was so popular and beloved by people that I also wanted to make a similar version, but vegan. Topping it with a chive cream cheese and my vegan smoked salmon recipe!
This vegan breakfast bagel pizza is absolutely scrumptious, I’d eat it for breakfast lunch or dinner!

Vegan Breakfast Bagel Pizza (with "Lox")
Ingredients
Bagel Crust Ingredients
- 1 2/3 cup plain dairy free yogurt I used the almond yogurt Kite Hill brand
- 2 1/2 cups cassava flour plus more for dusting as go
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
- 3 tsp maple syrup
- 3 tsp avocado oil
Cream Cheese Topping
- 1 8 oz. dairy free cream cheese
- 1 tbsp chives, chopped
- 2 tsp everything bagel seasoning
Toppings
- vegan smoked "salmon" lox recipe linked above
- chives
- red onion, thinly sliced
- everything bagel seasoning
Instructions
Making the crust
- To a bowl, mix together cassava flour, baking powder, sea salt. Then add in the dairy free yogurt and use a spoon to mix together. Once it begins to come together, use your hands. Sprinkle in extra flour as to go if its sticky to form it into a dough ball.
- Place it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a rolling pin or your hands form a circular crust about 1/2 inch thick. Use your finger to press down to make the interior of the dough a little more hallow.
- Into a bowl, mix together avocado oil and maple syrup.
- Use a pastry brush to brush on the avocado, maple syrup mixture onto the 2 inches of outside of the dough, then top with everything bagel seasoning.
- Bake for 350F for 20 minutes. Remove and allow to cool for about 5 minutes.
Cream Cheese Topping
- Combine cream cheese, chives and everything bagel seasoning together into a bowl. Place in the center of the pizza bagel crust and use the back of the spoon to spread it out on the pizza.
- Top with vegan smoked "salmon" lox, chives, thinly sliced red onion.
- Enjoy!
